When I think of a tropical island, I think of exotic fruits and tasty tropical beverages. There is nothing like seeing fresh bananas, papayas, and mangoes growing in such abundance to appreciate the tropics. And yes, as tempting as
it is to want to climb up a tree and pick your own fruit… Leave the harvesting to
the professionals, it’s much more convenient (and safe) to stop at a fruit market or roadside stand.

KOTA TANI (CITY FARMERS) SIGN
In Langkawi, there are quite a few roadside shops that have fruit available, but only recently did this wonderful new market arrive in Kuala Muda on Jalan Kuala Muda.
That particular road is well traveled by many visitors touring Langkawi. It is parallel to the Andaman Sea (near the airport) and was beckoning for a midway stopping area. Well, now the Federal Agriculture Marketing Authority (FAMA) has D’e Fruit Centre conveniently adjacent to the well traveled road. And I was told that all the produce is grown locally!
I was happy to find that not only do they have a great fruit selection, they have
a nice shady café in the back where you can get cold fruit drinks or even fruit pizza! So next time you’re driving past, stop in and say hello to the team. It’s a perfect stopping point on the long road from Pantai Cenang and they’re open 7 days a week until 11pm.

Sounds like a great place! And you live there!
You would like it, so next time you come this way…;) you are most welcome!
